Your Students’ Association

Representation, leadership and opportunities across UKMC.

Your Students’ Association

The UKMC Students’ Association (UKMCSA) represents students across the College. The five College-wide offices work across campuses; Vice Presidents, Academic Affairs Officers and Events Coordinators serve the campus named in their title.

Contact the Association: students.association@ukmc.ac.uk.

How the Students’ Association developed

UKMCSA has grown through successive groups of student leaders. Its development reflects the work of students across UKMC campuses.

March 2025 · Foundation

The Association began with seven founding student executives, nominated and ratified across campuses. They helped establish its early structures and priorities.

July 2025 · First elections

The first elections for the next group of student leaders took place. Their term concluded in July 2026.

July 2026–July 2027 · Current executive

The present elected executive began its term in July 2026 and is expected to serve until July 2027, subject to the approved constitution and any changes in office.

Historical dates and the founding account are provided by UKMC's Head of Non-Academic Engagement. For current officer details, consult the published officer information.

Independent student voice, clear institutional governance

Under the approved UKMCSA Constitution and Governance Policy (effective 1 July 2025), the Association is an unincorporated association operating within UKMC’s governance framework. It is not described in that constitution as a separate charity or autonomous students’ union.

Its constitution provides for independence in decisions about student representation and activities, with UKMC staff supporting rather than directing those decisions. Financial commitments, elections, events, data handling and complaints remain subject to the applicable approved arrangements.

UKMCSA brings together elected officers, class representatives and student-led societies. Clubs and societies operate under the Students’ Association, which supports their development, governance and activities.

This summary explains the current approved governance framework; it does not replace the constitution or establish any separate legal status.
